Hands-on, plain-language instruction to build confident, safe daily care—delivered where care happens.
What this service is
RN-led training and competency validation for family caregivers and Certified Nursing Assistants. We teach step-by-step skills, use return demonstrations to confirm mastery, and document results with competency checklists aligned to your role and any active provider orders.
Scope: RN training and competency validation only—no diagnosis or prescribing.
Who it’s for
Family/friend caregivers supporting care at home
New or upskilling CNAs and agency staff needing refreshers or sign-offs
Homes or facilities standardizing technique across shifts
Skin Integrity & Wound Support
Skin checks and pressure-injury prevention: risk factors, repositioning schedules, off-loading, moisture management, and what to report. Includes basic wound-care assistance per active orders—gathering supplies, maintaining a clean field, assisting with securement—and red-flag recognition.
Safe Mobility & Transfers
Bed mobility, gait belt technique, wheelchair safety, fall-prevention basics, and body mechanics to protect both client and caregiver during everyday moves.
Infection Control Fundamentals
Hand hygiene, appropriate PPE, clean vs. dirty workflow, surface/supply management, and isolation basics to reduce transmission risk in the home or facility.
Documentation & Competency
Concise, objective note-writing; incident reporting; and shift handoffs. Training includes return demonstrations (coached practice until consistent) and competency checklists with RN sign-off for your records or agency file.
With vs. without provider orders
Without orders: Education and skills coaching only—no clinical procedures.
With active orders: We can assist and model ordered tasks (e.g., a specific dressing routine) to reinforce correct technique.
Clients/agencies are responsible for contacting the ordering provider for new or revised orders.
How the training works
Brief intake: goals, current routine, barriers, and any provider orders or facility policies.
RN demo: clear, stepwise instruction with safety call-outs and tips.
Guided practice: you perform the skill; we coach form, sequencing, and infection control.
Validate & document: competency checklist, feedback, and next-step recommendations.
Note: RN services complement—not replace—medical care. We collaborate with your physician/NP/PA and follow provider orders and facility policies.
